Here is a little bit about me...

I am the youngest of five kids. I was born in Arizona, and moved to Rochester, New York before my first birthday. I lived in New York until high school, when my family moved to Zephyrhills, Florida. I graduated from Zephyrhills High School and was named a National Merit Scholar before attending The University of Florida. Go Gators! I earned a Bachelors degree in English and a Masters degree in Secondary English Education from UF. Upon graduation, I moved to the area and I have been teaching English and Journalism for the past 10 years, all of them at New Smyrna Beach High School. In 2008, I was honored to be named a National Board Certified Teacher by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. In addition to teaching freshmen English, I am currently a leader for the Academy of Digital Media and Marketing and the yearbook sponsor. I am married. My husband's name is Daniel Murray. We have one child named Madeline who was born in April of 2008. We also have two dogs, Cassie and Roxi. I love my family, I love my life, I love my job and I love my students. Life is good!
